In today’s culture there is so much isolation, especially surrounding birth. You are going to experience feelings, emotions, and have questions that maybe you can’t just talk to your cat about. we want to break the pattern to normalize and let you know it’s okay to have support! (We all need support in many different faces, it’s very human). 

Our birth doula services at Medicine of Essence are centered in a nurturing approach designed to educate through pregnancy on birth, labor, and child care to enable clients to make the decision for themselves. We provide you with continuous support through child birth and coach you through the birthing process. 

Medicine of Essence provides educational resources on the birth process so you understand your options and to relieve any anxiety you may have about labor. 

What birth doula support may look like:

1. Prenatal visits to discuss a birth plan (how you envision your birth), discuss your anxieties or excitement about birth!

2. 24/7 support… You can call or text anytime for questions, concerns, or just someone to express to.

3. Prenatal Massages (depending on the package)

4. Your doula attends your birth, staying through the entire process to keep you grounded and cared for!

5. Your doula educates you on the birth process

6. Assisting with position changes and suggestions for optimal labor progression

7. Creating a calm environment

8. Hydrating and feeding birther

9. Massage/counter pressure during labor
